Joy in Learning during COVID-19

As with all programs at Westminster, Joy in Learning classes are being affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The information below reflects activities during a typical year, many of which have been cancelled or modified in 2020. Joy in Learning brings together WPC children and adults with our friends from Nations Ministry Center and Preston Taylor Ministries. Classes at WPC are intergenerational and meet nine weeks in the fall, winter and spring. Classes include: cooking, pottery, science and others.

Elementary (K-4th grade)
Middle School (5-6th grade)
Volunteers (5th grade and older)
Volunteers with children - child care provided.


Depending on the volunteer leaders who are
willing to share their skills, we have classes in
pottery (free hand and wheel), cooking, sewing,
woodworking, knitting, weaving, painting,
science, hair art, theater, music, dance,
destination imagination, creative writing, and
many more!


  • To explore different strengths God has given us.
  • To provide an intergenerational outreach experience.
  • To provide Christ-like friendships among volunteers, children from Westminster, Preston Taylor and Nation's Ministry.
  • To find the joy in learning a new skill or using your skills to guide others.
  • To connect our faith with each other.

We offer a variety of workshops that occur throughout the year.
