Adult Education Classes on Sunday
At Westminster Presbyterian Church, we seek to nurture our members, at all stages in their faith journey, in ways that strengthen Biblical, spiritual and moral foundations and affirm what we believe as Reformed Christians. Throughout the adult education program, we work to cultivate an environment in which diversity is valued and different opinions are respectfully engaged.
New Member Class - Room M-308
Classes are offered three times each year for new members: September, January, and May. These classes last 6-8 weeks and are provided to assist those who are exploring membership at Westminster. These classes can also provide an excellent refresher for members who seek to know the history of this particular church more fully, who want to brush up on their understanding of Reformed theology and worship, or who simply want to get to know the mission and members of Westminster more deeply. For more information, please contact Rita Fuson-Frazier Ritafusonfrazier@nashvillewpc.org in the church office 292.5526.

Methods for Joining the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
"The incarnation of God in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ gives to the church not only its mission but also its understanding of membership. One becomes an active member of the church through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and acceptance of his Lordship in all life. Baptism and a public profession of faith in Jesus as Lord are the visible signs of entrance into the active membership of the church" (PCUSA Book of Order, G-5.0100a). Individuals may become a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church by one of the following methods:
Profession of Faith:
A person who has never been a member of any Christian church, or who has been baptized but never offically "joined" a church, makes a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. If you have not been baptisted when you join Westminster, you will be baptised at that time.
Certificate of Transfer:
A person who is a member of some other Christian Church and wishes to unite with Westminster may request that the secretary write for her or his letter. If you signed a card expressing interest in membership at Westminster the membership secretary has already written for your church certificate.
Reaffirmation of Faith:
Some churches do not transfer members, including but not limited to the Church of Christ, the Baptist Church, and the Roman Catholic Church. A person who is a member of one of these churches an wishes to join Westminster will be asked to reaffirm his or her faith in Jesus Christ. No "rebaptism" is required.
Affiliate Membership:
A person who is a member of another Presbyterian church but who will only temporarily be in the Nashville area may use this category. An affiliate member is offically connected to Westminster for a period of one year while maintaining membership in her or his present church. The affiliate relationship may be renewed.
Adult Sunday School Classes
Mission of Adult Education:
At Westminster Presbyterian Church, we seek to nurture our members, at all stages of their faith journey, in ways that strengthen biblical, spiritual, and moral foundations and affirm what we believe as Reformed Christians. Throughout the Adult Education program we work to cultivate an environment in which diversity is valued and different opinions are respectfully engaged. Our Sunday morning classes are designed to be communities where members and visitors are invited to join the journey growing deeper in faith and fellowship. Some classes are geared more for “age and stage” of life, while others are intentionally intergenerational. During the year, special classes and speakers are arranged for the whole church to experience learning together. All are welcomed to become part of what God is doing through the education ministry at Westminster.

The Search Class is a small group that, although always forcused on a theological theme, consists of much group discussion and gentle leadership around the theme.
