Discipleship Classes
DISCIPLE Bible Study Series - Spring 2013
Registration is required. Westminster is pleased to offer the DISCIPLE Bible Study. DISCIPLE is an intensive study, requiring participants to commit to 32-34 weeks of study as a part of small groups, to give two hours each week to group time and to give 5-10 hours each week in preparation for group. The DISCIPLE workbook is part daily devotional guide, part commentary, and part journal; the cost for the class and materials is $40. CLASSES BEING OFFERED:
DISCIPLE I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study
This first class is an overview of the entire Bible and is the gateway for the other DISCIPLE classes.
DISCIPLE II: Into the Word Into the World
An in-depth study of Genesis-Exodus, Luke-Acts.
DISCIPLE III: Remember Who You Are
An in-depth study of the Old Testament Prophets and the Letters of Paul.
DISCIPLE IV: Under the Tree of Life
A study of the Old Testament Writings (Ruth; Ezra; Nehemiah; Esther; I & II Chronicles; Job; Psalms; Proverbs; Ecclesiastes; and Song of Songs) and John (the Gospel of John; I, II and III John; James; and Revelation).
Falling Upward Book Group
The Falling Upward in Christ Book Group will have its first meeting on Wednesday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m.
At this first meeting, we will study Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life by Richard Rohr. (This is the same book the Westminster Book Study Group is reading this month.) From Amazon.com: “In Falling Upward, Fr. Richard Rohr seeks to help readers understand the tasks of the two halves of life and to show them that those who have fallen, failed, or ‘gone down’ are the only ones who understand ‘up.’”
Books will be made available at the book study, please bring $10.00 for your copy. If you would like to have it on Kindle, it will cost $10.50. Also, we will take 5-6 weeks to get through the book. This book study will continue to meet every other Wednesday.
Please bring a bag lunch.
