Congregational Care

Committee Meetings: M309, 1st Wednesdays, 6:30pm

The purpose of the Congregational Care Committee is to provide consistent and regular care to the members and friends of Westminster Presbyterian Church by both clergy and laity.

The Congregational Care Committee attempts to include members of all ages.

Some of the ways that quality care within Westminster takes place include:

  • Career Transition Network — A cooperative program established at Brentwood United Methodist Church tat we participate in that is intended to assist unemployed persons or those in career transition through workshops, support groups, counseling and computerized job listings.   • Care Notes — Booklets provided as a congregational resource on a wide variety of emotional and physical health topics.
  • Changing Gears — A group of older adults who meet monthly for dining, programming, and community with each other, as well as periodic day trips throughout our area.
  • Hospital Visitation — Ministry coordinated by the committee to ensure that our pastors and Stephen Ministers regularly visit those hospitalized each week.
  • Pastors’ Aides — A group of members who minister regularly to Shut-In members.
  • Prayer Chain — An effort by the committee to respond to urgent prayer requests by notifying one another of situations via phone and by praying for the situation immediately and then incorporating the request into their daily prayer life.
  • Prayer Requests — A means by which prayer requests are made by members and friends of the church which are to be regularly included in the intercessory prayer life if Members if the committee. To make a prayer request, simply click here.
  • Pregnancy Loss — Through personal contact, educational and community resources, this group seeks to help members who grieve a pregnancy loss. The Westminster Library has added resources to help with this outreach.
  • Transportation Team — Volunteers who provide assistance for those needing a driver to worship service.
